Fire damages commercial building near Hobby Airport, officials say

HOUSTON ( KIAH ) — Heavy smoke and flames filled the sky near Hobby Airport due to a commercial building fire on Thursday night.

Multiple fire units responding around 10:40pm Thursday night in the 8700 block of Tallyho Road, finding the building fully engulfed.

The fire appears to have started at this large building with the “Auctions Unlimited” sign and spread to other buildings inside the property.

Firefighters took a defensive position while fighting the fire for multiple hours until putting it out. No injuries were reported as of Friday morning.
