Traffic closures in Houston this weekend

HOUSTON (KIAH) — On Friday morning, drivers may have noticed slower speeds going into the 8 a.m. hour. Now, going into the afternoon, drivers will notice drive times back to normal.

At 10:36 a.m., two accidents were ongoing on I-610 West Loop Northbound at San Felipe Street with one heavy truck accident impacting the two frontage road lanes. The second accident is involving three vehicles on IH-45 North Southbound before Tidwell Road on the left and center lane.

Weekend Closures starting today are as follows:

• Eastbound from Brazos River/Waller-Austin County Line to FM-1489 in Brookshire-One inside lane is closed 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. until Monday, October 21
• Eastbound from FM-1489 to Woods Rd in Brookshire- One outside lane is closed from from 9:00 p.m. today through 5:00 AM to Monday, October 21
• Westbound from FM-1489 to Brazos River/Waller-Austin County Line in Brookshire
• Eastbound from Kirby Drive to SH-288- 2 outside lanes closed 9:00 p.m. today through 5 a.m. Monday, October 21
• Southbound from Fairmont Pkwy. to Mccabe in La Porte- Closed starting tomorrow, October 19 from 5:00 a.m.-5 p.m.
• Northbound and southbound from Main to Dow Barge Channel/Dow Plant in Freeport- three alternate lanes closed from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday, October 18
• Northbound from 50th St to 54th St in Galveston- three alternate lanes closed from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. today
• Northbound and southbound from Cane Island Pkwy to Westridge Creek Lane-One alternate lane closed from 9:00 p.m. tonight-6 a.m. tomorrow, October 19
