(KIAH) — Fans gathered in New York’s Washington Square Park to pay tribute to Liam Payne on Saturday.

This footage was published by Nada Elwasli, and shows attendees singing One Direction’s songs “Walking in the Wind” and “Night Changes.” A number of handwritten messages and tributes to the singer are seen placed at the vigil with a number of lit candles.

Payne died aged 31 after falling from a third-floor balcony at a hotel in Buenos Aires.

Meanwhile, Hundreds gathered in London’s Kensington Gardens to mourn Payne as fans around the world grieved for the singer who died this week.

Directioners, as supporters of the wildly successful boy band are known, left tributes Sunday in London, Glasgow, Paris, Sydney and New York this weekend as they celebrated the life of the 31-year-old who died Wednesday after falling from a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires.

In London, they clapped and sang after gathering near a statue of Peter Pan, the fictional boy who never grew up created by J.M. Barrie.
