    Sam Houston becomes bowl eligible

    HUNTSVILLE, Texas (KIAH) — We have some great news out of Sam Houston State University in Huntsville.

    The 6 and 2 Bearkats held off Florida International 10-7 last night to become bowl eligible in theri first season following a 2-year transition to the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS).

    Sam Houston moved to the conference USA from the Western Atlantic conference in 2021. The Kats are now the fourth consecutive program to make the transition up and become Bowl eligible within the first two seasons of being in the FBS.
