Guns N’ Roses Frontman Axl Rose Makes Unlikely Guest Appearance
Billy Joel performed his 150th show at New York’s Madison Square Garden on Thursday. Joel previously said of his record-breaking residency: “When this franchise run at Madison Square Garden began in January 2014, I said I’d play one show a month ‘as long as the demand continues.’ I never imagined I’d still be playing one show a month 10 years later. It’s a testament to my amazing fans, and the 1.6 million people from around the world who have already been part of this historic residency. Now, after ten incredible years, it feels right to conclude this journey with my 150th lifetime show at the Garden.” On Thursday night, Joel was joined by a special guest in Guns N’ Roses singer Axl Rose, who performed three songs with Joel including the Wings’ hit “Live And Let Die,” AC/DC’s “Highway To Hell,” and Joel’s “You May Be Right.” Fan-filmed footage of Axl with Joel can be seen below. Joel has a history of asking guest stars from the world of rock to join him including AC/DC’s Brian Johnson, Bruce Springsteen and ZZ Top’s Billy Gibbons, among others.
