The Summer Adventure program will run Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 am to 4 pm starting June 1st, 2023. Guests will have access to some pretty amazing things at the center when visiting for Summer Adventure.

    Environmental Science and Sustainability Center

The Environmental Science and Sustainability Center $12.2 million building will be open and features permanent exhibits Our Water Story, Sustainable Future, Orientation Story, and the unique Nature Exchange. This building is beautiful and just recently opened. The water exhibit is sponsored by Greenville Water and is totally interactive.

This is also where you will find a space for traveling exhibits, which means you'll frequently find new and exciting things to discover. Summer 2023 will bring you "How People Make Things."

Pet a Sting Ray, Visit a Farm & More

Harrison Hall of Natural Science will also be open for visitors. This is where you can pet a stingray and handle shells and hermit crabs. There is an active beehive where you can try to find the queen as well as rooms with snakes and smaller animals for observation (and sometimes petting!).

You will also be able to take a stroll around the Living History Farm which highlights life in South Carolina in the 1800s with several hands-on activities. In the past, activities included maing toys out of sticks, rope, and branches, washing rags on an old washboard, and visiting with adorable sheep. The Living History Farm also has horses, cows, and chickens.

The butterfly garden and nature playground are also open for guests during summer adventure. The nature play area next to the pond is awesome. It’s mostly shaded and has a cute little house for kids to play in.

    Dinosaur Invasion: The Dino Trail

Here’s the coolest part if you and your kids love dinosaurs: Summer Adventure features a super fun Dino-Trail, which has life-size dinosaurs.

    Life. Size. Dinosaurs.

See all your dino favorites as you walk along the forested and shady trail. Stroll up and down the trail as many times as your dino-loving tots would like, there's no line and no limit.
