Pirates' phenom Paul Skenes notches 100th strikeout in just 13 MLB starts
Paul Skenes' already amazing season continues to become even more impressive. The Pittsburgh Pirates rookie – and All-Star Game starter for the National League – tallied the 100th strikeout of his nascent major league career in Monday's matchup with the Houston Astros. The milestone whiff occurred in the second inning with Skenes whiffing Jon Singleton on an 88 mph changeup.
Steelers’ TJ Watt Reacts To Browns’ Myles Garrett Trying To Find His Secret
Pittsburgh Steelers star edge rusher, TJ Watt was not pleased with the NFL during the 2023 season. After one game, he expressed frustration that he wasn't receiving the same kind of holding calls that other top pass rushers get. Watt even suggested that he felt the NFL had something against him. Despite this, he continued to dominate the league, leading in sacks with 19. Despite his impressive performance, Watt was overlooked for the AP Defensive Player of the Year Award, which went to Cleveland Browns star Myles Garrett, a rival of the Steelers. Although Garrett had fewer sacks, websites like Pro...
MLB Trade Grades: Who gains in Red Sox-Pirates swap of former first-round picks?
Chad Jennings: The numbers to look at here are not necessarily Priester’s 6.46 ERA in the majors or Yorke’s .898 OPS in Triple-A. More relevant might be the fact Priester was the 18th overall draft pick in 2019 and Yorke went 17th in 2020. Neither has had a perfectly smooth ride since draft day — Yorke was way up, then fell flat, then rebuilt value; Priester was a top 100 prospect but hasn’t found consistent results in the big leagues — but they’re both still relatively young with upside.
Pirates, Paul Skenes to open series with host Astros
Locked in a traffic jam of National League wild-card contenders, the Pittsburgh Pirates averted a three-game series sweep at the hands of the Arizona Diamondbacks and built some momentum before facing the host Houston Astros. Thanks in large part to pinch-hit doubles from Rowdy Tellez and Joey Bart that tied...
Steelers' Justin Fields Both Proved Critics Right, And Showed He Can Be A 'Bona Fide Starting Quarterback'
The Pittsburgh Steelers claimed they were settled at quarterback, with Russell Wilson being granted "pole position" by Head Coach Mike Tomlin. Then the start of training camp rolled around, and Wilson was suffering from tightness in his calf, and that prevented him from practicing. This gave Justin Fields an opportunity to show off. According to most of the analysts at camp, Fields has been displaying some of the patterns of behavior that were concerning when he was with the Chicago Bears, such as inconsistent accuracy. Yet there is a cautionary tale here as well. Steelers fans all recall training camp 2023...
‘KAWS + Warhol’ = A Surprising New Art Brew at The Warhol
First it must be said that this art show is weird. And it’s a good weird, like a new blended drink with an unusual punch. KAWS + Warhol runs through January 20, 2025 at The Andy Warhol Museum. The idea behind the exhibition was to combine pieces by two artists whose work looks very different, although the artists are similar in their approaches and certain themes they address. If that sounds like an artsy-intellectual sort of concept, so be it. Fortunately the result comes across as anything but elitist. Visitors who know nothing about art—whose vocabulary never includes words such as “juxtaposition”—ought to be able to get a kick out of the juxtapositions on display here.

Wanna Cuddle? And Other Modern Love Letters
From the Publisher: “‘Hey girl, u up? Wanna cuddle?’ Ahhh, how poetic, right?! Alas – love and chivalry is not dead after all. Award-Winning Author Nadette Rae Rodgers took a break from writing to focus on finding her own ‘happily ever after.’ But what she found was far from it.
Steelers QB Competition: Did Justin Fields catch up to Russell Wilson in first week?
Latrobe, Pa. -- Justin Fields received a unique opportunity by proxy for Russell Wilson’s calf injury: The Steelers got to see him with the first team for an extended time. They experienced the trials and tribulations of the Fields experience. He dazzled with his deep balls all over the yard but made many annoying mistakes. This would all spiral and change from a snap-to-snap basis. It all gave Fields a solid four days rather than one, allowing him to surge forward.
