Steelers rookie WR Roman Wilson carted off with ankle injury
One Wilson inched closer to returning and another left Pittsburgh Steelers training camp practice on a cart. Steelers rookie wide receiver Roman Wilson left Tuesday's practice for tests on his ankle and head coach Mike Tomlin was visibly concerned about his status. He appeared to sustain an ankle injury while being tackled on a jet sweep during a short-yardage drill. Tomlin said the injury to Wilson was unfortunate just as veteran quarterback Russell Wilson was taking the field for position drills. "Roman hurt his ankle in a tackle and they are evaluating him," Tomlin said. "To have more information on the extent of the injury and how long he could be out." Russell Wilson has been dealing with a strained calf and spent the first week of camp on the sideline at Tomlin's urging. Roman Wilson, 23, was a third-round pick (84th overall) in the 2024 NFL Draft out of Michigan. He's expected to play a significant role for the Steelers, who traded Diontae Johnson to the Carolina Panthers. He caught 48 passes for 789 yards and 12 touchdowns for the national champion Wolverines in 2023. --Field Level Media

Steelers' Then-Rookie Le'Veon Bell Absolutely Embarrassed Ryan Clark In 1st Training Camp
The Pittsburgh Steelers, their fans, and the entire NFL has seen what their offense was capable of doing during the Killer B's era. A big part of that was Le'Veon Bell, who was known as the most patient running back that anyone has ever seen. At his peak in Pittsburgh, he was a dynamic runner that could also be a true receiving threat. 1,000+-yard seasons were normal for him, but he still had to prove himself to get that job in the first place. Life wasn't always easy for him, especially in his rookie year. Bell made an appearance on Antonio Brown's...
Justin Fields Appreciates Arthur Smith Talking Trash: ‘Good To Have A Coach Like That’
The Pittsburgh Steelers have a lot of new faces in their building this year, and that means that this year’s training camp has a few new wrinkles to it. The team is always changing, but this year includes a whole new quarterback room, a handful of new receivers, numerous new offensive linemen, and a flurry of changes in the defense. However, maybe the most important change is Arthur Smith as offensive coordinator. Smith should be a major upgrade at that spot, and based on some recent comments from Justin Fields, it seems like he’s got some moxie that players will appreciate.

UNITY TWP., Pa. — Russell Wilson made his most extensive practice appearance to day for the Pittsburgh Steelers during the team’s fifth training camp practice of the 2024 season at St. Vincent College on Tuesday. Wilson took part in walkthroughs and warmups, throwing to the full slate of Steelers receivers for the first time in Latrobe. When it came to go live, Wilson was limited to handing off in an 11-on-11 setting, though he did throw in the 7-on-7 period.
Former NFL QB Believes Justin Fields Gives Steelers ‘The Best Chance To Compete’
With Russell Wilson unable to practice for the start of training camp, it’s been the Justin Fields show for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Fields hasn’t looked like a superstar, but he has been as advertised. He’s made big throws down the field and created some plays with his legs, but it’s apparent that he still has aspects of his game that need work. When Wilson is healthy, he will almost certainly be the starter again, but former NFL quarterback Steve Beuerlein believes that would be a mistake by the Steelers.

Making The Grade: Patrick Queen An ‘A+ Player’ And Trash Talker, Mark Kaboly Says
When the Pittsburgh Steelers signed Patrick Queen to a three-year, $41 million-dollar contract this offseason, they were expecting him to be an immediate starter and leader in the middle of the defense. Queen is coming off a Pro Bowl season for the Ravens in which he recorded 133 tackles, and the 24-year-old should just be beginning his prime years. However, some discussion has circulated — mostly from frustrated Ravens fans – that Queen needs the assistance of his former All-Pro linebacker teammate Roquan Smith in order to maintain his excellence.
‘Maybe This Dude Is Crazy:’ Le’Veon Bell Recalls Ryan Clark’s Trash Talk During Rookie Year
To say former Pittsburgh Steelers RB Le’Veon Bell had a unique running style would be putting it mildly. Bell was tall for an NFL running back, checking in at 6-1 at the 2013 NFL Combine (while also weighing in at 230 pounds before reaching 244 pounds in the NFL). Yet Bell did not compensate for his height by keeping his pad level low.
Steelers' Mike Tomlin's Protege Is Excited For A Chance To Take Him Down Week 1: 'Big Brother Is Coming'
The Pittsburgh Steelers' schedule has been talked about a ton ever since the schedules for all 32 teams were released. Most of the talking points revolve around the difficulty of the schedule, and how all of their divisional games are in the second half of the season. Not a lot of attention has been paid to the start of the year, or their season opener against the Atlanta Falcons. This game is special because it is the first game of the season, but also because of an existing relationship between the two head coaches. Mike Tomlin and Raheem Morris both worked together in the...
