LATROBE, Pa. — Wide receiver George Pickens is finding new ways to establish himself as a leader in his third season with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The team traded six-year veteran Diontae Johnson to Carolina in March after Pickens had a breakout second season. Now, the 23-year-old Pickens is the Steelers' longest-tenured wide receiver and the only one on the roster with a 1,000-yard season.

The Pittsburgh Pirates were defeated last night on the west coast 9-5 by the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Diamondbacks got off to a strong start, with a 4-1 score early on. The Pirates rallied, tying the game up 4-4 by the fifth inning. The Diamondbacks surged again, bringing them the win. The Pirates have lost both games in this series so far.
