The Major League Baseball trade deadline is Tuesday at 6 p.m., and the Pirates made a small move before Monday night's game in Houston, then made a bigger move during the contest. Steelers' Winners And Losers From First Week Of 2024 Training Camp
The Pittsburgh Steelers will enjoy a day off on Monday before putting on the pads come Tuesday's training camp practice. The first week was highlighted by a sudden calf injury to Russell Wilson, which highlighted the play of Justin Fields. The veteran in Wilson is expected to be back for the second week and it will be interesting to see how he operates with the first-team offense. After an exciting few practices, the coaching staff is likely already getting an idea of how the 53-man roster should be formed. Things can change when the pads go on, but for now, there...
Will Steelers’ Rookie OL Rise Up Depth Chart As Pads Come On?
Will the Steelers’ rookie offensive linemen rise as they put the pads on?. The next training camp practice the Steelers conduct will be in full pads, a momentous day in the camp calendar. It is the time that practice shifts from football in shorts to actual football, especially in Latrobe with live tackling. It is the ideal environment in which to evaluate, particularly the offensive and defensive linemen.

Pirates Trade Quinn Priester to Red Sox for Nick Yorke
The Pittsburgh Pirates and Boston Red Sox have swapped former first-rounders. The Pirates are trading right-handed pitcher Quinn Priester to Boston in exchange for infield/outfield prospect Nick Yorke, a source confirmed to Pittsburgh Baseball Now. He’s Not Vladdy Jr., But Nick Yorke is Intriguing
I’m not big on taking the temperature of situations on social media. X can be a technological echo chamber with people hiding behind fake names and posting outrageous things to stir other users. Using Facebook makes it easier to keep up with my cousins but many opinions on the platform are expressed more with emotion than logic.
Cheers! By Jamie Kirkpatrick
Remember this: “Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name”? Back in the day, Thursday night was sacred. No matter where I was, I went to Boston, to that little step-down watering hole named “Cheers” where everybody—Sam, Coach, Woody, Carla, Norm, Cliff, Frasier, Rebecca, and Diane—not only knew each other’s names, but everybody else’s, too. Alas; NBC shuttered “Cheers” on May 20, 1993; it’s probably still serving beers in reruns somewhere, but it’s just not the same…
2023 NFL O-Line Zone Blocking Study
Today, I wanted to circle back to the offensive line position, examining zone-blocking data from Sports Info Solutions (SIS). The topic is intriguing, considering new Pittsburgh Steelers OC Arthur Smith has utilized zone-blocking concepts at a high rate in his previous coaching stops. That means it’s reasonable to expect to...

Orlovsky: Would Steelers Be ‘Content With Becoming The Baltimore Ravens’ Starting Justin Fields?
The Pittsburgh Steelers sit in a unique position with two quarterbacks on the roster who were starters last season elsewhere around the league. To a certain extent, they have similar skill sets. Both quarterbacks like to extend plays with their legs, and both can push the ball down the field. But Justin Fields, at 25 years old, provides much more of a threat on the ground for designed quarterback run plays.
Jason Aldean ‘Highway Desperado’ tour: Where to get tickets under $50 for Scranton show
The “Try That In A Small Town” singer will be in Pa. to perform two concerts on his “Highway Desperado” tour in August. Jason Aldean will perform on Saturday, Aug. 3, at The Pavilion at Montage Mountain in Scranton; and on Saturday, Aug. 10, at The Pavilion at Star Lake in Burgettstown.
MLB Trade Grades: Pirates are buyers, but did they overpay for Jalen Beeks?
Stephen J. Nesbitt: I don’t understand this one for the buyer here, unless the Pirates are setting up for another move, like dealing lefty Aroldis Chapman. As it stands now, the Pirates are giving up one of their top 25 prospects for a rental reliever. We’ve written about how expensive relief pitching is at this trade deadline, but Beeks, 31, isn’t one of the big-name relievers on the market. He’s a soft-contact savant with deception and decent stuff who had some solid seasons with the Rays. But the surface numbers have worsened and the swing-and-miss has vanished this season (down 10 percentage points year over year). You can’t just hand-wave Beeks’ numbers because of the Coors Effect, either. He’s actually been significantly better at home (3.81 ERA) than away (6.00 ERA) this season. This isn’t to say Beeks won’t be all right for the Buccos down the stretch. He still dominates lefties (.529 OPS), though that’s less helpful in the post-LOOGY era.
