Steelers rookie WR Roman Wilson carted off with ankle injury
One Wilson inched closer to returning and another left Pittsburgh Steelers training camp practice on a cart. Steelers rookie wide receiver Roman Wilson left Tuesday's practice for tests on his ankle and head coach Mike Tomlin was visibly concerned about his status. He appeared to sustain an ankle injury while being tackled on a jet sweep during a short-yardage drill. Tomlin said the injury to Wilson was unfortunate just as veteran quarterback Russell Wilson was taking the field for position drills. "Roman hurt his ankle in a tackle and they are evaluating him," Tomlin said. "To have more information on the extent of the injury and how long he could be out." Russell Wilson has been dealing with a strained calf and spent the first week of camp on the sideline at Tomlin's urging. Roman Wilson, 23, was a third-round pick (84th overall) in the 2024 NFL Draft out of Michigan. He's expected to play a significant role for the Steelers, who traded Diontae Johnson to the Carolina Panthers. He caught 48 passes for 789 yards and 12 touchdowns for the national champion Wolverines in 2023. --Field Level Media

Steelers' George Pickens Absolutely Blasts EA Sports Over Horrendous Madden Rating
The Pittsburgh Steelers' training camp is underway, with pads coming out this week. Head Coach Mike Tomlin, like the Steelers' coaches who came before him, takes the players to Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA, to help them get away from the real world. The players return to what life felt like when they were in college as they stay in dorms and forgo all the creature comforts of home. While some might grumble about rooms, the majority appreciate the camaraderie it helps build. That doesn't mean the players don't know what is happening in the real world. They keep up...
Pirates Reportedly Adding Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Bryan De La Cruz
A couple minor additions for the Pirates, which has mostly been the theme of their trade deadline:. IKF is hitting a little bit this year, though he’s coming back from a knee injury. Decent bench player to have, raises the floor of that group for the Pirates. Ditto for De La Cruz, who is about a league average bat in the outfield. Fine to add. Not an impact guy.
