Outdoors: 3 local DNR officers coming to northwest Ohio parks
After covering two fairly recent large events — Fish Ohio and the Little Portage Wildlife Area Restoration Project — I have come in contact with several Ohio Department of Natural Resources wildlife officers, and I have found them to be helpful, patient, and informative. Earlier this week, eight new officers graduated from their training and were sworn in ready to uphold their duties to serve the public and protect and promote the state’s wildlife resources. The ceremony took place at Deer Creek State Park Lodge & Conference Center last week, according an ODNR news release. These individuals are commissioned peace officers and provide law enforcement services at Ohio’s recreational properties and on its waters, which can be anything from educating a boater on proper safety to enforcing conservation laws. The peace officer training took place at the Ohio State Highway Patrol Training Academy in Columbus.

Ohio Attorney General Sues Brooklyn-Based Home Warranty Operation for Alleged Consumer Deception
Ohio's legal challenge to home warranty provider First Premier Home Warranty and its owner has escalated. Attorney General Dave Yost files a lawsuit accusing them of duping consumers through deceptive business promises. In a statement obtained by the Ohio Attorney General's Office, Yost articulated the contention that Ohio residents are entitled to the services they are promised and paid for, asserting, "Ohioans deserve reliable services when they pay a company their hard-earned money," and adding that "Honest businesses do what they say they're going to do – false promises won't hold up."

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio wasn’t a top-tier swing state in the 2020 presidential election. But both major parties’ presidential nominees still booked tens of millions of dollars and TV ads here and visited the state regularly. This year, Vice President Kamala Harris and former president Donald Trump’s...

Cities with the most expensive homes in Ohio
Purchasing a home is one of the most important investments there is. More than a place to live, homeownership is an asset with the potential to tremendously rise in value. But with home prices reaching record heights, affordability plays a huge role for buyers.
