DECATUR, Ala. — Alabama’s Department of Corrections is looking for escaped inmate Randall Lane Sparks, last seen in Decatur. ADOC says Lane left his assigned job in Decatur in Clay County around 7:30 a.m. on July 26. Sparks, 62, was last seen wearing blue jeans and a T-shirt.

Saturday’s schedule 36-hole final of the 76th U.S. Junior Amateur at Oakland Hills is the perfect time to throw rankings out the window. On one side, there is Tyler Watts, the 16-year-old from Huntsville, Alabama, who is not only ranked seventh in the AJGA junior rankings but No. 121 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking. He is a member of the inaugural U.S. National Junior Team and has several top national finishes, including wins at the Jones Cup Junior and Southern Junior, plus runners-up at the Terra Cotta Amateur and AJGA Mayakoba Invitational.

Kitchen Cops find roaches, rodents and no hot water around the Valley
HUNTSVILLE, Ala. (WAFF) - The weekly Kitchen Cops inspections are in, and all across north Alabama, inspectors seem to be running into very similar problems. The South End Market on Gault Avenue had numerous serious violations, dragging it’s score down to an 80. Inspectors noted roaches in the kitchen and prep area and rodent feces along the baseboard of the floor. There was also a pan blocking a hand washing sink, a cutting board blocking the 3 compartment sink and roaches in both sinks as well. On top of that, there was no hot water in the kitchen, making it impossible for the staff to wash or sanitize dishes.
