RC Regional Airport Sets New Passenger Record
(Rapid City, SD) — The Rapid City Regional Airport is celebrating a milestone record. Through the first six months of the year, the airport has seen the most passengers ever come through its doors. The number comes out to around 30-thousand more passengers getting on flights compared to this time last year. Executive Director Patrick Dame credits new flights, larger passenger planes and the Black Hills for the increase. Rapid City Regional’s new destinations include direct flights to Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles and Orlando with plans to also add direct flights from Houston and San Francisco for this year’s Sturgis Rally.
Madison wins 14U VFW Region 3A
The Madison 14U VFW baseball team is heading to state, after taking the Region 3A tournament on Tuesday. Madison won games over Volga and Flandreau on Monday to open play. Volga then defeated Flandreau 21-8 on Tuesday to set up a rematch, with Madison needing to win one of two games against Volga to claim the region title. Madison needed only one game, winning Tuesday 4-3.
