South Dakota anti-abortion group appeals ruling that dismissed its lawsuit over ballot initiative
PIERRE, S.D. (AP) — An anti-abortion group in South Dakota has appealed to the state’s Supreme Court after a judge dismissed its lawsuit to take an abortion rights initiative off the November ballot. In a statement, Life Defense Fund Co-Chair Leslee Unruh said the group has asked for an expedited order from the court “because there are absolutely no legal grounds for this dismissal.” The appeal was filed Wednesday. “We will do everything we can to move this case as fast as possible,” she said. Starting out in the morning, we could see some areas of patchy fog develop then clear by mid morning. Temperatures will start out in the low 60s, with low to mid 80s returning by the afternoon. A few scattered showers will be possible across the region tomorrow morning, but most of that rain will fall in the afternoon. Once again, we’re not looking at a severe weather threat, but smaller hail, strong winds, and locally heavy rainfall will be possible in some stronger storms.
