Chesterfield Township has received a positive audit report for the 2023 fiscal year. Pam Hill, a partner at Plante Moran, presented the results of the township’s most recent audit at a July 9 Board of Trustees meeting. Officials have cracked down on a human smuggling operation in Metro Detroit after agents witnessed a boat illegally crossing from Canada into the United States, resulting in the arrest of five individuals. On June 25, U.S. Border Patrol agents from the Marysville Station observed the vessel on the St. Clair River as it dropped off three passengers on the U.S. shoreline who then proceeded to quickly get into a waiting car. According to WWJ News Radio, the individuals were swiftly apprehended by the authorities.
