Water quality advisories cancelled for all St. Clair County beaches
The St. Clair County Health Department (SCCHD) has canceled water quality swimming advisories for all St. Clair County beaches. There are no longer advisories for Chrysler Beach in Marysville; Holland Beach, Lakeside Beach and Lighthouse Beach in Port Huron; and Keewahdin Beach and Fort Gratiot County Park Beach in Fort Gratiot.
Marine City hires new DPW superintendent
The Marine City Commission voted unanimously on July 11 to hire Aaron Atkinson as superintendent of the city’s Department of Public Works. Retired DPW Superintendent Jeffrey Schmidt, who had a part-time, as-needed employment agreement approved at the commission’s June 20 meeting, came forward during the public comment portion of the meeting to speak.

The owner of American Custom Marine in Kimball, Mich., Michael Knoblock doesn’t simply enjoy speed on the water. Knoblock makes his living selling powerboats, from new Nor-Tech center consoles to pre-owned V-bottoms and catamarans, that deliver it. His most recent personal pleasure-boat, for example, was a well-known Outerlimits Offshore Powerboats 51 GTX called Mamba. Then-powered by a pair of Mercury Racing 1075SCi engines, the Dean Loucks-painted 51-footer topped 120 mph.
8th annual Wheels on the Waterfront car show set in Port Huron
