Many Michigan cities and towns have individuals they cherish or dislike for one reason or another. One Michigan town adores "Trash the Clown." I grew up in the small town of Holly on the east side of Michigan. Over the years I have been to many cities and towns across the state and have noticed individuals everyone knows of in town even if they don't know them personally. In Holly, it was a man everyone called F.B.I.
William Conner, 82
William Conner, age 82, of Imlay City, MI, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at his home. William Douglas Conner was born March 25, 1942m in Lum, MI. He is the son of the late Harmon and the late Annabell (Schwerin) Conner. William grew up in the Lum and North Branch, MI areas. He attended North Branch High School. William married Judith “Judy” Roberts on October 27, 1962m in Lapeer, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy, on September 14, 2015.
St. Clair College Names Vagnini Interim Men’s Soccer Head Coach
The St. Clair College Athletic Department has announced that Steve Vagnini will be assuming the role of Interim Head Coach for the Varsity Men’s Soccer program, effective immediately, while remaining the Women’s Soccer Head Coach for the Saints. Vagnini takes over for Mike Baraslievski who recently retired after 32 years at the helm for the Saints.
Mayo “Buck” Krumenaker, 95
Mayo “Buck” Krumenaker, age 95, of Imlay City, MI, died Sunday, July 7, 2024, at Stonegate Health Campus of Lapeer, MI. Mayo Walter Krumenaker was born August 13, 1928, in Ann Arbor, MI. He is the son of the late Ernest and the late Clara (Pulcer) Krumenaker. Buck grew up in Argyle, MI. He attended Argyle School. At the age of 17, Buck proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1948-1949. Thereafter, he joined the Merchant Marines and sailed around the world. He married Betty Ann Ploetz on August 23, 1952. in Romeo, MI.

Two beaches closed due to bacteria
Two St. Clair County beaches are closed due to elevated levels of E. coli bacteria. The Health Department has issued a swimming advisory Chrysler Beach in Marysville and Holland Beach in Port Huron until further notice. Water samples will be collected at these beaches until the bacteria returns to acceptable levels as advised by the State of Michigan.

Twister is a 1996 American disaster film directed by Jan de Bont and starring Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton. The film follows a group of storm chasers trying to deploy a revolutionary tornado research device during a severe outbreak of tornadoes in Oklahoma. The film begins with a young family taking shelter from an impending tornado, but the father gets sucked into the tornado and killed. The story then jumps to 27 years later, where the daughter Jo is a tornado-obsessed meteorologist who leads a rag-tag team of storm chasers.

U.S. Farathane warehouse fire 95% contained
The fire at the U.S. Farathane warehouse in Port Huron is estimated to be 95% contained, according to the Port Huron Fire Department. Smoke was no longer rising from the warehouse as firefighters fought the blaze inside for a third day Tuesday, though Port Huron Fire Chief Corey Nicholson warned there may be an increase in smoke conditions as the day proceeds.
?Michigan man arraigned for owing more than $13K in child support
Randall Auchmuty, 48, of Kimball was arraigned this week in Clinton Township 41B District Court for failing to pay his child support on his two minor children. According to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office, Auchmuty was ordered in December of 2019 by Macomb County Circuit Court Judge Matthew Switalski to pay $455.00 a month in child support for his two children.
Brown City man killed after rollover crash in Emmett Township
A Brown city man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Monday evening in Emmett Township. A news release from the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office states Leonard Bennett, 53, was the sole occupant of a car which rolled over off of Foley Road. The sheriff's office received a report of the crash just before 6 p.m.
