Three Richmond Township Board seats contested in primary
Races for three seats on the Richmond Township Board of Trustees are contested in the Aug. 6 primary election. Incumbent Republican Supervisor Christopher DeVos is seeking another four-year term against Republican challenger Cindi Greenia, who currently serves as township treasurer. In the treasurer race, the Republican candidates are Christine Brickel and Alayne Waterstraat, a current township trustee. Three Republican candidates are seeking two trustee spots: Charles Cryderman, Richard J. Jeroue and incumbent Vern Kulman.

Triumph Awarded Gearbox Contract From GE Aerospace
RADNOR, Pa. - Triumph Group has announced its Geared Solutions business has been awarded a contract to provide the auxiliary gearbox from GE Aerospace for the F404 afterburning turbofan engine with potential future use on multiple applications, including the T7-A, T-50, and TAI Hurjet platforms. Triumph is a long-standing engineering and manufacturing partner with GE on military and commercial gearbox applications. This work will be performed at Triumph's facility in Macomb, Michigan.
Marine City hires new DPW superintendent
The Marine City Commission voted unanimously on July 11 to hire Aaron Atkinson as superintendent of the city’s Department of Public Works. Retired DPW Superintendent Jeffrey Schmidt, who had a part-time, as-needed employment agreement approved at the commission’s June 20 meeting, came forward during the public comment portion of the meeting to speak.

Under the sparkling azure waters of the St. Clair River, lies the history of the Port Huron area. Marko Tomko is a diver of 39 years and has explored the river 750 times. He began diving in 1985 when he and his wife went to a Club Med resort in the Bahamas, and he obtained a basic dive certification. Captivated by his experience, he returned to Michigan and received his Open Water Certification. He was drawn to the Sea Snoopers Diving Club, comprised of divers throughout southeast Michigan, and cultivated friendships and dive buddies to explore the Great Lakes.
