Half-dozen beaches closed due to bacteria
A total of six beaches are now closed in St. Clair County due to elevated levels of E. coli bacteria. The Health Department has added Lakeside, Lighthouse, Keewadhin, and Fort Gratiot County Park to the list of beaches currently closed. A swimming advisory also remains in effect for Chrysler Beach in Marysville and Holland Beach in Port Huron until further notice. Water samples will be collected at these beaches until the bacteria returns to acceptable levels as advised by the State of Michigan.

NEW DATE SET FOR CHRISTINE MAYS BRIDGE RESURFACING PROJECT
PennDOT has announced the new timeline for a bridge resurfacing project in Grant Township. The project on Christine L. Mays Bridge will now take place this Friday, July 19th, through Sunday, July 21st. The work is weather dependent and will require the closure of the bridge for the time being.
