Swimming advisories issued at Holland, Chrysler beaches in St. Clair County
The St. Clair County Health Department Thursday morning issued swimming advisories for Holland Beach in Port Huron and Chrysler Beach in Marysville. The beaches have been closed due to the elevated presence of E. coli, health officials said in a news release. Water samples will be collected at the beaches until E. coli test results are within the acceptable water quality range as advised by the state of Michigan.

World War II reenactors return to Chesterfield Township this weekend
World War II history will be brought to life this weekend in Chesterfield Township. A reenactment will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Chesterfield Township Historical Village. The theme this year is Operation Cobra, which took place July 25 to 31, 1944, the breakout of Normandy during World War II.
