Kermit man found dead after crash in Logan County
LOGAN, W.Va. — A Mingo County man was found dead from injuries sustained in a crash on Route 10 in Logan County, authorities said. The family of John Newsome, 43, of Kermit, reported Newsome missing to Mingo County Sheriff Joe Smith’s office after he failed to return home from work early Wednesday. Newsome worked in the Elk River Mines.

Officials unveil largest mountain bike trail project in W.Va. history
BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. — West Virginia officials have broken ground on the largest mountain bike trail project in state history. At Cacapon Resort State Park, a two-hour drive from downtown Washington, D.C., the $3.5 million project will add 35 miles of professionally designed mountain bike trails to the park’s trail system.
