JJ Wetherholt spreads across top 10 in final set of MLB mock drafts
The 2024 MLB Draft is just one night away, but projections for WVU shortstop JJ Wetherholt still could not be more split. With several major publications locking in their last mock drafts for Sunday’s first round and others all but finalizing them, Wetherholt’s draft stock is about as clear as it will get now. Despite that, where Wetherholt will actually land in the pros could not be less clear, as four recent mocks have him projected in a range of first overall to seventh.
Completion percentage is still the primary focus for Greene entering 2024
It was a similar message from West Virginia quarterback Garrett Greene. Since the conclusion of the 2023 season, completion percentage has been the focus for Greene as well as head coach Neal Brown. Greene was one of the most dynamic players at his position last season, but the one thing that held him back was his 53 percent completion percentage, by far the worst in the Big 12.

WVDHF announce investment plans, sale of senior health facilities
WEST VIRGINIA (WCHS) — The West Virginia Department of Health Facilities announced plans to potentially sell four long-term senior care facilities, officials say. WVDHF has partnered with healthcare merger and acquisition advisors, Lument Securities, LLC, with the goal of improving the quality of care through the sale and license transfer of the facilities without interruption of care, according to a release from the department.

Gov. Justice, WVDNR announce lottery opening for Twin Falls hunt and a chance to hunt with Whitetail Frenzy
CHARLESTON, WV — Gov. Jim Justice announce that the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources (WVDNR) will begin accepting applications for an archery lottery deer hunt at Twin Falls Resort State Park and that one lucky hunter will be chosen to participate in an episode of Whitetail Frenzy TV. Applications will be open July 15, and you’ll be able to enter HERE.“I’m thrilled to announce this lottery hunt at Twin Falls and to be part of providing an unforgettable experience for one lucky hunter,” Gov. Justice said. “With gorgeous scenery, abundant wildlife, and incredible opportunities like this, West Virginia continues to be the best place in the world to go hunting.” There are 15 spots on the Twin Falls lottery hunt, but only one grand prize winner will get to hunt with the Whitetail Frenzy TV film crew. They’ll also receive a special prize package, including lodging at Twin Falls Resort. “I want to thank Whitetail Frenzy for partnering with the WVDNR to offer this extraordinary opportunity,” WVDNR Director Brett McMillion said. “This hunt not only highlights our state’s natural beauty and abundant wildlife but also supports our efforts in promoting sustainable hunting practices and wildlife conservation.” The lottery hunt is open to residents and non-residents, and applications must be submitted online at WVhunt.com. Hunters must use their existing Electronic Licensing and Game Checking System account or create one to apply. Once logged in, applicants must select “Enter a Lottery Drawing” and choose one of the available options. State Park Controlled Deer Hunt Lotteries Gov. 2026 WR Garrett gets plenty of attention on latest West Virginia stop
Middletown (De.) 2026 wide receiver BJ Garrett had been to West Virginia before but his latest trip gave him even more insight into the program. Garrett, 6-foot-3, 195-pounds, was able to compete in the Mountaineers 7-on-7 tournament and he didn’t need to wonder about how the coaching staff felt about him.
