orcas island crushes all its glass into sand or gravel size pieces, and it is used for paving purposes. This saves many truck trips to the faraway recycling facility. ...and the trucks have long ferry rides in the process.

perhaps the only material that's actually recyclable indefinitely and they're not taking it anymore.What's that say about the legitimacy of recycling?Crush it and put into building material like concrete and for roads.
