Teen ‘orchestrated’ Kent robbery that led to 13-year-old’s death, charges say
An 18-year-old was charged in King County Superior Court in connection to a shooting that killed a 13-year-old boy near Turnkey Park in Kent last week. Prosecutors say Faysal Abdullahi, of Kent, “orchestrated” an armed robbery that led to gunfire that killed the 13-year-old, who the King County Medical Examiner’s Office identifies as Matthew Stavkoviy. Abdullahi was charged on Tuesday with first-degree murder and robbery.

Teen charged with murder after 13-year-old fatally shot during park armed robbery
SEATTLE — The 18-year-old man accused of fatally shooting a 13-year-old boy in Kent last week during an armed robbery attempt was charged with murder Tuesday. The King County Prosecuting attorney's office filed a murder in the first-degree charge against Faysal Abdullahi, 18, in connection to the fatal shooting on July 16. Abdullahi's next court date is his arraignment, which is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Aug. 5.
RapidRide Future and Prioritization
Following major cuts to RapidRide expansions due to budget constraints posed by the pandemic, the King County Council asked Metro in 2021 to, among other things, produce a “RapidRide prioritization plan” by the middle of this year. According to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office, 15-year-old Giovanni Brown died on July 18 as a result of multiple gunshot wounds suffered at a residence in Auburn.
