Primary election is set for Aug. 6
King County Elections has mailed the ballots to voters and now the Aug. 6 primary awaits. Elections communications manager Halei Watkins said that ballots were released on July 17 and they should expect to land in voters’ mailboxes by July 22. If that doesn’t occur, voters can call 206-296-8683 to arrange for a ballot delivery. The general election is set for Nov. 5.

Man fatally shot in Auburn, deputies seek witnesses to the incident
KING COUNTY, Wash. — A man was fatally shot in Auburn Thursday evening, according to the King County Sheriff's Office. The KCSO said at around 6:30 p.m., they received a 911 call about shots being heard in the 28700 block of 34th Ave S. When deputies arrived, they found a man who was lying on the ground and appeared to be a victim of a gunshot wound in the parking lot of the Brookside Village apartments.
King County residential property values rise 12.4% in SE Kent
Median residential property values are up 12.4% this year in southeast Kent and east Auburn, according to the King County Assessor’s Office. The Assessor’s Office has begun the annual process of mailing property valuation notices to taxpayers. Notices will be arriving in southeast King County neighborhoods soon, according to a July 18 news release from the assessor.
