CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- A free, Charlottesville-wide event is getting some money to help mark the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution. On Thursday, Virginia Humanities announced more than $162,000 in grants for 20 nonprofits across the Commonwealth. Locally, the University of Virginia is getting $7,500 to support the Cville Puzzle Hunt 2025.

M&A activity in the autism treatment industry appears to be picking up. On July 22, private equity-backed ABA Connect announced that it acquired ABA Therapy of Houston, bumping its footprint to 12 facilities across Texas and Colorado. Virginia home sales down slightly in June, but listings up 25%
The Virginia Home Sales Report, published recently by Virginia Realtors, found that home sales in the state declined slightly in June compared to the same month last year. According to the report, 10,018 homes were sold statewide this June, 974 fewer than were sold in June 2023. But, the report also indicated that overall sales activity across Virginia in 2024 was slightly outpacing the first six months of 2023 even though mortgage rates have been higher this year than last year.
