Soulbrain TX, LLC, a South Korean manufacturing company, announced it will invest $175 million into opening a phosphoric acid facility to help with Samsung's nearby semiconductor fabrication plant in Taylor. According to a news release, the City of Taylor and the Taylor Economic Development Corporation (TEDC) reached an agreement with Soulbrain on this initial investment as well as the promise for the plant to create a minimum of 50 jobs.

A routine traffic stop led to the discovery of marijuana and ecstasy concealed inside stuffed Buc-ee's beaver toys, authorities said Wednesday. A Fayette County Sheriff's Office deputy pulled over a vehicle for a traffic infraction on I-10 westbound near mile marker 664 at approximately 1:10 a.m. During a consented search, the deputy detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.
Dripping Springs’ Rummel selected to Team USA 18u
Cooper Rummel, a stand-out pitcher for the Dripping Springs HS Tigers baseball team has been selected to the 2024 Team USA 18U roster. Rummel was selected to the 18 and under (18U) Team USA baseball team in July. He and the team will play in the World Baseball Softball Confederation Baseball World Cup Americas qualifying tournament Aug. 2-11 in Panama City, Panama. Rummel made the final cut after participating in the national team’s training camp July 17-21 at the USA Baseball’s headquarters in Cary, North Carolina. Rummel will have a busy summer. He was also selected as a Perfect Game All-American. He will play for the East team in the Perfect Game All-American game on August 18 at Chase Field in Phoenix. Rummel is a right-handed pitcher and is a verbal commitment to enroll at the University of Texas where he will play for the Longhorns baseball team.
