    Kingsport to hold Main Street Rebuild public meeting

    KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) — The City of Kingsport will host a public meeting regarding the Main Street Rebuild project on July 8.

    The city said the meeting will serve as a place to hear from residents, businesses and property owners concerned about the project.

    The $20 million, multi-year construction project aims to improve and beautify one of the main gateways into downtown Kingsport, the city said in a news release.

    The project includes the following:

    • New water, sewer and stormwater lines
    • Telephone/cable lines underground
    • Powerlines relocating to the opposite side of the road
    • Enhanced landscaping

    The meeting will take place on July 8 from 4 – 5:30 p.m. in the Montgomery-Watterson Boardroom (3rd floor) of City Hall (415 Broad Street).
