KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) — Financial counseling meetings to help people with their credit scores will take place throughout Kingsport, the city announced on Tuesday.

“Hwy 720; Where financial literacy and community intersect” is a regional initiative aimed at helping people through financial counseling to achieve a credit score of 720.

“A healthy credit score can change your life,” Mayor Pat Shull said in a news release. “If you can achieve a score of 720, you can open doors to so many opportunities like housing, lower interest rates and a better life for you and your family.”

Financial professionals will host seminars, workshops and appointments at banks, credit unions and nonprofits across the Tri-Cities from July 18 through July 23.

The meetings will cover resources, advice and information on how to improve your credit score.
