Mrs. International contestants spend time with young Kingsport girls ahead of pageant

KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) — Contestants in the Mrs. International Pageant have returned to Kingsport ahead of the 2024 competition.

The Mrs. International Pageant begins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday at the MeadowView Conference Resort & Convention Center. Anyone may attend the event, and tickets are available for purchase online.

The 43 contestants from around the U.S. and the world take part in community events ahead of the competition.

On Tuesday, contestants spent the day with girls from Girls Inc. of Kingsport.

“We’re hoping to have a really great time with the girls, let them have a good experience, meet the contestants,” reigning Mrs. International Rachel Marks told News Channel 11. “It’s going to be a little mingling, a little T-shirt designs. I think it’ll be a great day.”

The Mrs. International Pageant has been around for 30 years and celebrates married women, their accomplishments and their commitments to their families.

“Our pageant system is very unique,” Marks said. “It’s focused on today’s married woman, so focusing on the accomplishments and the empowerment of women who are in careers but also have a family, are married.”

The pageant will also be livestreamed on the pageant’s social media channels.
