KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) — One person was seriously injured and a driver was cited after a crash on West Stone Drive in Kingsport Thursday.

The Kingsport Police Department (KPD) reports officers responded to a motor vehicle crash with injuries at the West Stone Drive/Netherland Inn Road intersection just after 2 p.m.

An investigation determined a black 2018 Chevrolet Cruze was turning left from Netherland Inn Road onto West Stone Drive when it was hit by a 2014 gray Jeep Cherokee, the KPD stated.

The Cruze then reportedly hit a 2016 white Honda Pilot due to the impact of the crash.

KPD officers concluded that the Jeep Cherokee allegedly ran the red light on West Stone Drive, causing the crash.

The driver of the Cruze was taken to a local hospital for treatment of major injuries, the report stated.

The driver of the Jeep Cherokee, identified by police as Dandridge Walker, and two juvenile passengers received minor injuries.

Walker was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device, according to the KPD.

The driver and passengers of the Honda Pilot were uninjured in the crash.
