KINGSPORT — Lucas Armstrong shot a 5-under par three-day total of 211 (-5) to win his third Ridgefields Invitational title on Sunday. He recorded rounds of 71, 67 and 73.

The Church Hill native entered the final afternoon tied with Blake Adams atop the leaderboard at 6-under par. But Adams was disqualified for missing the start — leaving Armstrong alone in the lead. Armstrong fell behind Nick Cohen early in Sunday’s round before a birdie on No. 16 put him in position to win. He took a two-stroke lead into the final hole to collect the victory.

Armstrong serves as course superintendent at Ridgefields Golf & Athletic Club. His championship in the 74th Ridgefields Invitational was his first since joining the club’s staff.

Cohen finished with a one-under 71 on the day and a three-day total of 213 (-3) for second place. Carter Wolfe finished third with a 214 (-2). Brandon Worley, the 2023 champion, finished fourth at 213 (-1). Ben Treadway was fifth at an even par 216.

Cary Daniels, Mike Poe and Tony Green each finished with a 216 in the Senior Championship Flight, but Daniels won a playoff for the victory. Jerry Matthew cruised to the Super Senior Championship with a score of 148.
