    Rec League Notes: Kingsport hosting Family Fun Night

    KINGSPORT — The Kingsport Parks and Recreation Department is hosting a Family Fun Night event on Aug. 3 from 7-9 p.m. at the Kingsport Miracle Field (2021 Brickyard Park Drive).

    Families of all ages are welcome to attend and enjoy playing kickball on the field’s flat, rubberized surface. The facility’s all-accessible playground will be open, music will be playing, and food trucks will be on hand.

    The event is free. All equipment will be provided.

    Share photos of Rogersville city parks

    ROGERSVILLE — July is Parks and Recreation Month. To celebrate, the Rogersville Parks and Recreation Department is inviting local residents to show off their photography skills at its parks for a chance to win some cool prizes.

    Anyone interested in entering should plan to submit two photographs — one from each of two categories: A park landscape, playground or structure that inspires you and a photograph of a person or animal in action in the park. Eligible parks are Rogersville City Park, Swift Mini Park and Crockett Spring Park.

    The deadline for submissions is July 31.

    Rogersville opens fall sports registrations

    ROGERSVILLE — The Rogersville Parks and Recreation Department has opened fall league registrations for 4v4 beach volleyball, flag football and cheerleading.

    The flag football and cheer season for youth ages 5-12 will run from August through October. Teams are divided by age: 5-6, 7-9 and 10-12 (based on the player’s age as of Aug. 15). The fee is $20 per child.

    The registration deadline is Friday, Aug. 9. Coaches are also needed.

    The 4v4 beach volleyball coed fall league will play games on Sundays starting at 1 p.m. in August and September at Rogersville City Park. Players must be 16 or older. Teams must have a minimum of four and maximum of six players, with at least one female on the court at all times. The cost is $30 per team.

    Registration open for fall leagues in Kingsport

    KINGSPORT — Kingsport Parks and Recreation is now accepting registrations for its fall youth baseball leagues.

    Registration for machine-pitch baseball (10-12) and baseball (11-12) will continue through Aug. 7. Children must be of age as of Aug. 15, 2024.

    The registration fee is $30 per player (excluding the price of a jersey and hat). After the deadline, a late fee of $15 will be assessed.

    All games will be played at Domtar Park. The season will begin the week of Aug. 14.

    Small Weight Cardio continues

    ROGERSVILLE — Rogersville Parks and Recreation and Moving-U Fitness will continue the Small Weight Cardio class with ACE-certified personal trainer Neal Ewing on Monday nights from 6-7 p.m. at the Rogersville City Park stage.

    Fall league soccer registration continues in Rogersville

    ROGERSVILLE — Registration is underway for the AYSO Region 1336 fall soccer leagues for youth ages 3-13. The fee is $75 per player (with a $22 discount if a new uniform is not needed for returning players).

    Back to School Bash set for Aug. 3

    ROGERSVILLE — The Rogersville Parks and Recreation Department’s Summer of Fun will conclude Saturday, Aug. 3, from 7-9 p.m. with a Back to School Bash at the Rogersville City Pool. The gate fee is $2 per person.

    Yoga in the Park continues on Saturdays at 10 a.m. through Aug. 3.

    Kingsport offering fall adult softball leagues

    KINGSPORT — Kingsport Parks and Recreation is now accepting registrations for the 2024 fall adult softball leagues.

    Teams can have a maximum of 20 players on their roster. Divisions offered include church, industrial, seniors (50+), co-ed and men’s open. Participants must live inside the Kingsport city limits, attend Kingsport City Schools and/or own Kingsport city property to be eligible to participate.

    The entry fee is $400 per team with a $10 non-resident fee for all players who live outside the Kingsport city limits (max: $50). Registration continues through Aug. 7.

    All games will be played at Brickyard Park. The season begins the week of Aug. 26.
