Anvil Fest returns for two-day music showcase at Mount Sequoyah
Anvil Fest is back again this year, taking place on Aug. 16 and 17 at Mount Sequoyah in Fayetteville. Anvil Fest was founded by local artist and music aficionado Raif Box, and is a community-based event designed to help connect local musicians around the area with resources to help them grow. This two-day showcase of artists highlights bands that have performed on Anvil Sessions, a collaboration between KUAF Public Radio and Raif’s Holy Anvil Recording Company.
New UA accelerator aimed at engineers, agri industry
A new accelerator has been formed at the University of Arkansas to foster collaboration between engineers and those in the agriculture industry. Engineering Applications in Agriculture is an accelerator created with funding from the U of A College of Engineering, the Arkansas Agricultural Experiment Station and the Dale Bumpers College of Agricultural, Food and Life Sciences.

Lassiter placed on SEC academic honor roll
Warren High School graduate, Maddox Lassiter has earned a spot on the 2023-2024 First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll. The First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll is based on grades from the 2023-24 academic calendar. Among the 1,459 SEC student-athletes, Lassiter is one of the 74 Razorbacks. This achievement is proof of Lassiter’s determination and dedication to both academics and sports, proving that both can be done well at the same time. To be considered for this honor, the student-athlete must have a grade point average of 3.00 or above for either the preceding academic year (two semesters or three quarters) or have a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution.
