(AP) — Arkansas is being sued for rejecting petitions in favor of a proposed ballot measure to scale back the state’s abortion ban, with supporters asking the state Supreme Court on Tuesday to order officials to start counting more than 100,000 signatures from people who back amending the constitution. Opponents claim wind farm not a done deal
Scout Clean Energy is forging ahead with its proposed $300-million Nimbus Wind Farm development on ridge tops near Green Forest, having recently located an office trailer in the area to coordinate work on the project to install 46 wind turbines on 9,000 leased acres south of Green Forest. Scout is also close to securing a Road Use Agreement (RUA) from Carroll County Judge David Writer that provides for modifications to the narrow gravel roads needed for the transport of components including turbine blades about 200 feet long for the project that calls for installing some of the tallest wind turbines in the country.
Sebastian County officials explain votes against proposal for new Parrot Island water slides
FORT SMITH, Ark. — The Sebastian County Quorum Court has voted against helping cover the cost of new water slides at Parrot Island Waterpark in Fort Smith. "This kind of fell in our lap just a couple weeks ago, so not enough time to digest everything involved, and that's a substantial amount of money to spend when it's not even in our budget," County Judge Steve Hotz said. "We will continue to support our park. It was just just too big of a project to hit without planning for it."

Spivey earned a specialist degree in education principalship from Arkansas State University in August 2018 and a master’s degree in educational theory and practice from Arkansas State University in August 2014.
