Pickaway County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash that claimed the life of a Kingston man.

The two-vehicle crash occurred around 5:36 p.m. Thursday around US 23 and Tarlton Road in Logan Elm in Pickaway Township, according to a press release from PCSO.

When deputies arrived on the scene, they learned that a 2012 red Buick driven by 44-year-old Abigail M. Dirmeyer of Circleville was traveling northbound on US Route 23, approaching Tarlton Road.

At the same time, a 1999 turquoise Buick driven by 65-year-old Brenda L Fisher of Kingston was at the southbound light on US Route 23.

As Dirmeyer’s red Buick came into the intersection, Fisher’s turquoise Buick failed to yield to oncoming traffic, and the two collided at the intersection, according to the PCSO Captain Jonathan Strawser.

Clearcreek Township EMS transported Dirmeyer to Ohio Health Berger Hospital, and Fisher was flown by Med-Flight to Grant Medical Center.

David A. Fisher, 73, of Kingston, who was the front passenger in the turquoise Buick, was taken by Circleville EMS to Ohio Health Berger Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries from the crash and passed away at 6:44 p.m.

Sheriff Matthew Hafey thanked Pickaway Township Fire and EMS, Circleville Fire and EMS, Clearcreek Township EMS, Med-Flight, Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Ohio Department of Transportation for their assistance at the scene.
