KINGSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A swimming pool is the perfect place to be on a day like Sunday and even better when swimming is free.

More than 600 kids and adults splished and splashed at the Kingston Community Pool at no charge thanks to the Youth Enrichment Project.

Organizers held their Third Annual Hawaiian Pool Party.

Sunday’s event also featured a raffle to help raise money for the program.

The Youth Enrichment Project provides events like sports, the arts, and this pool party to help families who cannot afford it.

“So, if you think about soccer. Registration fees, we’re able to do that. If you need gear, we’re able to do that. So soccer, football, arts, theater. Anything that your child has interest in they can apply with us and we can help them with the fees,” said Youth Enrichment Project Co-Founder Kelly Ann Kenny.

“There should be more events for kids ’cause sometimes it’s kind of hard to find things to do for kids especially, you know, free,” Kingston resident Liana Francisco said.

More than 600 people attended the free pool party which was followed by the first Party Under The Pavilion, which provided free lunch, activities, and giveaways.
