Greene’s Family Butcher Shop to close following death of owner

KINGSVILLE, MD—A Kingsville butcher will close its doors following the death of its owner.

John Greene, founder of Greene’s Family Butcher Shop, passed away unexpectedly in June.

The store will now be closing its doors, according to the following post on its official Facebook page:

“It is with very very heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the closure of Greene’s Family Butcher Shop. This decision was not made lightly, but after the passing of our amazing father, our mother’s husband, and our children’s pop pop, it has become increasingly difficult for us to continue without him.

“We want to express our sincerest gratitude to each and every one of you who has supported us from the very beginning. Your loyalty and kindness have meant the world to us, and we will forever cherish the memories we have shared with you all and continue to reflect on all the love you showed to our father and our shop. Our family business was our father’s dream, and thanks to your support, it became a reality for the past 5 years. We will forever be grateful for the love and support you have shown us throughout this journey. As we close this chapter, we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being a part of our extended family. Your patronage and friendship have been a source of strength for us during this difficult time.

Greene’s Family Butcher Shop opened in 2019 at 12037 Belair Road. The owner of Greene’s Family Butcher Shop was one of only a handful of independent butchers in the Baltimore area.
