Woman allegedly ‘jumped out like Superman and clocked’ victim during altercation in Kingwood

KINGWOOD, W.Va. (WBOY) — A woman has been charged after allegedly knocking out a woman and continuing to hit her during an altercation in Kingwood.

On June 28, officers with the Kingwood Police Department responded to a report of a fight taking place at Circle K on West Main Street, according to a criminal complaint.

When officers arrived, they made contact with a woman “who appeared to be disoriented, had blood around/in her mouth and was holding ice and a towel on the right side of her head,” who told officers that Johnna Goines, 35, of Albright, and another individual “had attacked her,” officers said.

During that time, the victim “had no memory of the incident,” but after she was transported to Preston Memorial Hospital, a witness to the incident told officers that the victim and Goines were in a verbal altercation and that Goines “head [was] bobbing and weaving, [was] throwing her hands in the air and cussing,” according to the complaint.

When the victim moved closer to a vehicle, Goines ‘opened up the door, jumped out like Superman and clocked her,’ which is when the victim ‘went down,’ and Goines ‘continued to hit her while she was down, and you could tell [the victim] was fully knocked out,’ officers said.

Goines has been charged with malicious wounding. She is being held in Tygart Valley Regional Jail on $25,000 bond.
