Southeast Regional Premiere Of TRICH to be Presented at BARCLAY Performing Arts
The Find Your Voice Foundation and BARCLAY Performing Arts will present the Southeast regional premiere of TRICH, the critically-acclaimed solo show written and performed by United Solo Best Actress Winner Becca Schneider and directed by Jenn Haltman and Casey Pfeifer, for a one-week run from July 18 - 21. TRICH plays Thursday, July 18 - Saturday, July 20 at 8pm and Sunday, July 21 at 2pm. Tickets are $25 general admission; student prices are $20 with proof of student ID. Thursday's Opening Night is also Industry Night with $18 tickets for members of the Florida Performing Arts Industry. Dogteam Theatre Project's Inaugural Off-Broadway Season Opens Tonight At The Atlantic Stage 2
Dogteam Theatre Project's inaugural Off-Broadway season in NYC, presented in association with Middlebury College, opens tonight!. Two shows running in rep include the world premiere of María Irene Fornés' La Viuda in a translation into English by director Olga Sanchez Saltveit, and a new play by Sam Collier, A Hundred Circling Camps, directed by Rebecca Wear. Performances continue through August 4, 2024 in a limited engagement at The Atlantic Stage 2 (330 West 16 St.) in New York City.
United Way of Long Island Raises over $750k at Annual Luncheon
United Way of Long Island welcomed over 600 attendees, including individuals, corporations, labor unions and organizations to its annual UNITED IN PURPOSE Celebration. Thanks to the generosity of Presenting Sponsor Bethpage Federal Credit Union and other supporters, the event raised over $750,000, making it one of the largest yearly philanthropic fundraisers on Long Island.
FBI raid of Mayor Adams official uncovers illegal construction
An FBI raid of KSK Construction tied to NYC Mayor Eric Adams uncovered an illegal residential project in the East Village, Gothamist reported. KSK failed to obtain permits for the 12-story project at 280 East Houston St. to begin the above-ground work on the project. The city’s buildings department told Gothamist it did not notice the oversight until the publication inquired about it last month. By then, the 157-unit project already had five stories built.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) — New Jersey’s casinos saw their sports betting revenue decline by nearly 24% in June, and sports betting revenue overall in the state declined by 9.5%, according to figures released Tuesday by state gambling regulators. The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement reported that the nine casinos collectively saw their sports betting revenue decline by 23.9% in June compared with a year earlier. When the three horse tracks that take sports bets are included, the overall decline in such revenue for the state was 9.5%. Total gambling revenue in the state, including internet gambling and money won from in-person gamblers, was $491 million, up 7.4%.
