Research Notes Black And Hispanic Subway Riders Are Disproportionally Affected By System's Toxic Air
New research found that Black and Hispanic subway riders in New York City face 35% and 25% more polluted air, respectively, while using the system than Asian and white commuters. Additionally, lower-income communities were also found to be more exposed to the subway system’s “fine particular matter pollution,” or PM2.5.

Bayport Funding closes $5.2 million acquisition, construction loan for Fort Lee rental project
A private developer has closed on $5.2 million in financing in connection with a planned seven-unit apartment building in Fort Lee, its lender announced Thursday. In a news release, Bayport Funding said the deal will support the borrower’s acquisition of the site and construction for the nearly 25,000-square-foot project. The direct private bridge lender did not disclose the property’s address, but said it was a short drive from the George Washington Bridge and ferry and rail service to Midtown Manhattan.

Morristown Mourns the Loss of Retired Police Officer Carl Cousin
MORRISTOWN, NJ - Retired Morristown Police Officer Carl Cousin has passed away, announced Morristown PBA Local 43. Officer Cousin began his career with the Bureau of Police in 1980 and served for 27 years. After retiring, he returned as a Class II Special Police Officer, ultimately retiring again in 2022. "Officer Cousin’s commitment to the citizens of Morristown was exemplary, and his service will be remembered with deep respect and gratitude", wrote the Morristown PBA Local 43 in a Facebook post.
