St. Mary's EMS chief accused of stealing medicine, again
A suspect has been identified and charges are pending against an individual who is suspected of tampering with security seals on local ambulances in St. Mary’s County, according to local police. Thomas Patrick Raley, 39, the chief of Emergency Medical Services for St. Mary’s County, has been identified as the lone suspect, according to a release from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office. New Eastville Inn owner gives update to Northampton Board
The new owner of the Eastville Inn gave the Northampton Board of Supervisors an update at their July work session Tuesday night in Eastville. According to John Greenside, an attorney from Virginia Beach, the building was in serious need of structural repair. He reported that most of the brick work on the building, both aesthetic and structural, had been repointed. He had to lift the northern most section of the building, at one time the town’s Post office, to fix the foundation and reattach the joists. However, the structural work is not yet completed. He still needs to remove a concrete floor in the basement, dig down several inches and replace it, along with new piers which are currently supporting the building. He also plans to sister boards to the floor joists.
Lusby Woman Sentenced To 30 Months For A Series Of Fraud Schemes
GREENBELT, Md. – U.S. District Judge Theodore D. Chuang sentenced Charmaine Miesha Brown, age 45, of Lusby, Maryland, to 30 months in federal prison, followed by 3 years of supervised release for conspiracies to commit passport fraud and wire fraud, as well as bankruptcy fraud, and making a false statement in bankruptcy proceeding. Brown was also ordered to pay $128,201.22 in restitution.
DMV Empanadas Opens Next Week
DMV Empanadas at 560 N. Frederick Ave. in the Gaithersburg Square shopping center has announced it will hold its soft opening on Monday, July 29. DMV Empanadas was previously located at 113 E Diamond Ave in Olde Towne Gaithersburg. The restaurant features over 25 flavors of empanadas, including bacon & cheese, cheeseburger, and Old Bay shrimp. According to an Instagram post, the restaurant will also servce Chicken Milanese, and Broaster Chicken, and Lomo Saltado.
