Hoisington's Kraft likes running over defenders
HOISINGTON - He stands 5-foot-10 and weighs 190 pounds, but Hoisington Cardinal incoming senior Teron Kraft sports a heart bigger than any football field. “I like to think of myself as a power back,” said Kraft, who rushed for 1,228 yards and 13 touchdowns last season. “I will run hard and run you over. That's what we need in an offense, someone that's okay with running it up the middle for three yards, and sometimes breakout and make big plays.”

Stafford library receives another round of funding with Heritage grant
Every community has its center - that place where everything seems to happen. In Great Bend, it's the Barton County Courthouse and Jack Kilby Square. In Stafford, it's the Nora E. Larabee Memorial Library. The library recently received a second Heritage Trust Fund grant from the Kansas Historical Society. Library Board Member Shelly Brensing said the grants have been invaluable in preserving the facility.
Barton ranked #2 in the nation for best athletic department
Mark it seven straight years that Barton Community College has finished as one of the top three most successful athletic programs in the country. The National Alliance of Two Year College Athletics Administrators (NATYCAA) judges all community colleges across the country on how their teams finish at national competitions. Barton Athletic Director Trevor Rolfs said the Cougars athletic department finished second in the nation for the 2023-2024 school year.
Search continues for suspect in deadly Kan. BBQ gunfight
SEDGWICK COUNTY —Police have not reported an arrest and continue asking the public for help to find a Kansas man accused in a deadly gunfight on Father's Day. On Tuesday, Wichita Police reported no new update on missing 33-year-old Eric Gonzalez-Gutierrez, who is wanted for violating his pre-trial restrictions. Herzog attended Newman University from 2007-2011 and was confirmed in St. John’s Chapel on campus in 2009. Now, 17 years later, he returns to lead Campus Ministry and guide students through formation, stewardship and leading Mass.
