    Goodwill Industries has community outreach event in Kinston

    KINSTON, N.C. (WNCT) — Earlier Friday, local agencies gathered in Kinston for the Goodwill Industries of North Carolina Community Outreach event.

    The event offered free medical screenings and dental care from baptists on mission. There was also free legal aid from Legal Aid of North Carolina.

    Free STEAM education was available from Goodwill’s Mobile STEAM Lab and a pay-what-you-can food market from Ripe for Revival. “Here today, we invite people to come out. The dental unit is by appointment because everybody’s flooding that dental unit,” Event Committee Chairman Malcolm Lewis said. “The health screening – it’s wide open, come out. We’ll be here in Kinston.”

    The event continues Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church of Kinston on E. Gordon Street. To make an appointment, call (910) 233-3737.
