Newton honored at the OCA All State football game
Eufaula head football coach Larry Newton and other high school football coaches was honored at the Oklahoma Coaches Association All State football game for achieving 90-plus victories. Newton was hired in 2012 at Eufaula as the Ironheads head football coach. Newton took over a program that went 3-7 in 2009, 3-7 in 2010 and 3-7 in 2011.

Paws N Claws is excited to announce the Pet Food Pantry in Eufaula will open soon. By the first week of August, volunteers will be setting up the Paws N Claws Pet Pantry at the Eufaula Indian Journal, located at 100 2nd St., just west of the Mc-Intosh County Courthouse. It will officially open Monday, Aug. 5. The pantry plans to be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. for those in need.

SHREVEPORT, La. - Some parents in the ArkLaTex can save some money over the next two weekends, just in time for the kids to go back to school. The state of Oklahoma is having it's tax free weekend Friday through Sunday. During this time, the state sales tax of 4.5% will be completely waived, and even county and municipal taxes will be exempted, resulting in a higher overall discount for shoppers.
