Military Exchange Kicks It Up a Digital Notch at Fort Leonard Wood
The Army and Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES) is continuing to bring 5G connectivity to military exchange bases to benefit both servicemen and women and their families. Missouri’s Fort Leonard Wood’s exchange is the latest to benefit from this digital upgrade. Woman drowns in Big River attempting to save another swimmer
A 40-year-old woman from Valley Park, Missouri, drowned in Big River upstream of St. Francois State Park on Sunday afternoon. Melissa A. Hill entered the water to assist another individual who appeared to be in distress. During her rescue attempt, Hill lost consciousness and was found floating face down by bystanders. They pulled her from the water and immediately began life-saving measures.

WASHINGTON − U.S. Government Publishing Office (GPO) Director Hugh Nathanial Halpern recently named Brian Pearl, a native of Canton, Mo., as the agency’s deputy director. Pearl graduated from Canton R-V High School. He will serve in the agency’s second highest-ranking position as its chief operating officer. In addition to other responsibilities, Pearl will oversee GPO’s operations division, which includes plant operations, security and intelligent documents, official journals of government and customer services. OPD: Intoxicated Man Allegedly Drove While Revoked
An intoxicated Ottumwa man allegedly drove while revoked. 37-year-old Wansa Walter was charged with drunk drive revocation and OWI – 3rd or subsequent offense. On July 19 at 11:44 p.m, court records say Walter was driving a vehicle on South Sheridan Avenue. Officers observed Walter to have watery blood shot eyes, an odor of alcohol, and unsteady balance. Officers say Walter admitted that he was previously drinking an alcoholic beverage.
