    Road 2620 Fire threatens homes in Jefferson County

    As of August 15 and 1:30 p.m., The Western Washington Type 3 Incident Management Team says the Road 2620 Fire is approximately 150 acres in size.

    According to Washington State Patrol, the fire is burning in slash and timber and is now threatening homes.

    The fire is located on the south side of Mt. Jupiter in Jefferson County with no containment.

    Brinnon Fire says it started Wednesday night around 5 p.m. and no cause has been determined.



    CURRENT EVACUATIONS:

    Level 2: The 2500 block and above of Duckabush Road

    Level 1: Mt. Jupiter and the entire Duckabush area


    TYPES OF EVACUATION LEVELS

    Level 1: “GET READY” - Be aware of the danger in your area and start preparing for a possible evacuation.

    Level 2: “GET SET” - Be prepared for sudden or short-notice evacuation. People who need more help or time to evacuate, such as those with disabilities, medical conditions, small children, or large animals should evacuate now.

    Level 3: “GO NOW” - Get out! Danger in your area is current or imminent and you should evacuate immediately.


    State fire assistance has been mobilized, according to the Washington State Patrol.
