KHP: Driver clocked traveling 104mph in 70mph zone
KHP Troopers across Kansas continue to see drivers traveling well above the posted speed limit, despite a statewide campaign to crack down on excessive speeding. On Sunday, KHP Trooper J. Davis issued a citation in Ottawa County, on U.S. 81 at milepost 178 northbound, according to a social media report from the KHP. The driver was clocked at 104 mph, far exceeding the 70 mph speed limit. For those wondering, a ticket like this totals $363 in fines.
Fire damages Lawrence senior living facility; residents safe
Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical first responders worked to put out a fire at Brandon Woods at Alvamar Monday afternoon. The initial call came in just before noon Monday, according to LDCFM’s PulsePoint app. Several fire apparatus were dispatched to the senior living community at 1501 Inverness Drive in west Lawrence.

McConnell Air Force Base plans changes for upcoming airshow
Wichita’s McConnell Air Force Base will have its Frontiers in Flight Open House and Airshow on August 24th and 25th, and there will be some changes for this year’s event. LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A 47-year-old ADM plant employee’s death last month has been ruled an accident, with Lincoln Police confirming no crime was committed.
