OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Scattered showers and thunderstorm rolled across portions of central and southeast Nebraska this morning, with light showers lingering into the afternoon. The clouds and showers kept temperatures on the cool side for mid-August, only reaching the upper 70s around the Omaha metro, while temperatures over central Nebraska only warmed into the upper 60s and low 70s. Most of the rain shower activity remained just outside of the immediate metro area, but a few showers or sprinkles will remain possible through the early evening as a band of rain continues from around Columbus to Nebraska City. That band of rain should fade away with time, most areas should be dry by around 8pm.
